Privacy Policy

Onvi Player collects nothing about you. We run no servers for the app, and it has no analytics, advertising or tracking. We can’t see what you watch.

What’s kept on your Mac

Your profiles, channel lists, program guide, favorites, reminders, and watch progress are stored only on your Mac, inside the app’s private folder. A playlist’s stream addresses are kept there too, and they can include its login. Your provider passwords and playlist addresses are kept in the app’s own part of the macOS Keychain on this Mac, and stay in the private folder only if the Keychain can’t be used. Deleting a profile in the app deletes its data. Profile and parent passwords are kept only as a salted hash.

Who the app talks to

The app connects to the provider you add, to load its lists and play its streams, and sends that provider the login you entered. Channel logos and posters load from the addresses your provider lists. That provider has its own privacy policy, and we can’t see or control what it does with your connection.

When you copy stream info

Stream info has a button that copies a report, so you can send it to your provider. It holds your username, the name and IDs of what you’re watching, and technical details, and never your password or stream address. The app sends it nowhere: it goes only where you paste it.

Purchases

Apple handles every purchase and subscription. We never see your payment details or Apple Account. Apple gives us only overall sales reports.

Crash reports

If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your Mac’s settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. You can turn that off in System Settings.

Children

The app has no accounts and collects nothing from anyone, including children. It shows what your provider offers, so a profile lock is there for you to use. A child profile shows only the categories a parent chooses, but what a category holds comes from your provider, and we don’t check it.
